Master Sgt. Bernadine Eastridge earned recognition from Air National Guard officials as a leading professional in airfield management.

Eastridge was selected to receive the Air National Guard's Airfield Management Craftsman of the Year award for her work as the Airfield Management Training non-commissioned officer-in-charge for the 139th Airlift Wing.

In 2013 Eastridge received commendations from airfield operations compliance inspectors for having zero safety deficiencies for the airfield at Rosecrans.

Over the past year she has served as a liaison for outside units that want to mirror the training initiatives she has developed here for the airfield operations team insuring safety at all levels.

Eastridge was notified of her recognition on Feb. 5. She was surprised and happy of the honor given to her, yet is humble giving credit where it's due.

"It is a reflection of the entire team and not just one person," Eastridge said.

She will compete for Craftsman of the Year at the Air Force level later in the year.
After serving four years active duty, Eastridge joined the Kansas Air National Guard in 2003. In 2011 she joined the 139th. She has worked in airfield management since 2006.
