Airmen tee off for charity

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- Over 100 Airmen from the 139th Airlift Wing, along with family and friends, participated in the Rosecrans Chiefs Association's annual golf tournament here on June 17, 2016.

The association is made up of chief master sergeants at Rosecrans Air National Guard Base.

Proceeds from the event will go to local charities and the wing's Airman and Family Readiness Program.

Ninety six sponsors donated at least $100 each, said Jane Gabriel, the program coordinator. That includes monetary donations and gifts that will be raffled at the end of the tournament.

"This tournament would not be possible without the community support," said Gabriel who also attributes the success of the tournament to the 35 volunteers that helped.
