The Department of Defense's Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program was created to provide National Guard and Reserve members from all components and their families with information services, referral and proactive outreach opportunities throughout all phases of deployment .
This program will be manda-tory for National Guard members when they are called or ordered to active duty or full-time opera-tional support other than for training, for 90 consecutive days or more, or, in the case of the Air National Guard, 90 cumulative days or more during a fiscal year. The Air and Army National Guard will ensure that Airmen and Soldiers receive appropriate pay and allowances for their participation. The pay status of the Service member attending events will be determined by each respective Service. Adjutants General and Air and Army National Guard Commanders are urged to educate their personnel on DoD YRRP services and to encourage family attendance at scheduled events.
Brig. Gen. John Owen, director of the Joint Staff for the Missouri National Guard and who will oversee the Missouri program, said YRRP is one more vital tool established for the member and their families to build resilience to the on going deployment and high operations tempo.
As the DoD YRRP for the National Guard events are planned you will be notified of your required attendance by Jane Lackey, Wing and Family Readiness Coordinator for the 139th Airlift Wing.
