Officials recently announced the 2012 air show has been scheduled for May 5 and 6 here at Rosecrans Memorial Airport.

The air show team will once again be led by Lt. Col. Byron Newell, 139th operations chief. Newell and his team will travel to the International Committee of Air Shows (ICAS) conference this December to meet with representatives of individual acts and bid on their participation.

Currently, the performer line-up is undetermined.

Their 2010 ICAS yielded an impressive lineup to include acts such as the U.S. Navy "Leap Frog" parachute team and John Klatt Airshows.

"We will submit requests for such acts as the [USAF] Thunderbirds and the F-22 Raptor, and investigate other military performance teams", said Newell.

Newell said the team will be working with the St. Joseph Department of Commerce Charitable Fund to put together a quality line-up that features the best available military and civilian performers.
