More than 30 airmen of the 139th Airlift Wing, St. Joseph, Mo., sat in for a Junior Enlisted Council (JEC) meeting on Saturday, Oct. 1, in the Avionics building here.

The primary purpose for the JEC is to "be the voice and the moral of the junior enlisted here on base. Also to let the senior enlisted know what the junior enlisted members are thinking," says Tech. Sgt. Jessica Montesano.

Montesano was the president of the JEC until yesterday's elections in which Tech. Sgt. Brandon Paxton, 139th Aerial Port, was elected president. Tech. Sgt. Tia Masters, 139th Supply, was elected as vice president and Senior Airman Ryan Simbro, 139th Finance, was elected secretary.

The future goals the new president are "open lines of communication with senior leadership, keep the moral of the junior enlisted, and any kind of issues that really affect the junior enlisted, such as tuition assistance," said Montesano.
