Tech. Sgt. Jennifer Hill was recently named Airman of the Quarter for the 139th Maintenance Group here, January -March 2012 quarter.

Hill won the award (January - March 2012) for her instrumental flight line efforts and in modernizing the group's training methods.

Hill researched and obtained two e-tool readers to substitute for larger tuff books currently in use.

"I was surprised and humbled when I found out I was nominated for Airman of the Quarter," said Hill, a crew chief. "There are a lot of great people within maintenance and across the base that are just as deserving."

Since Hill's return from technical school she has proven herself a great asset to maintenance, her supervisors noted.

"Tech. Sgt. Hill's efforts in establishing the e-tools have been phenomenal," said Chief Master Sgt. Joseph Pflugradt, 139th Quality Assurance superintendent.

"Her computer knowledge and ability to effectively manage the groups' technical data make her an invaluable member of the 139th Airlift Wing," said Senior Master Sgt. Paul Carr, Maintenance supervisor.

Carr said that upon return from technical school, Hill was able to complete all but one core task for upgrade to 5-level in an amazingly short period of time. It's a feat that takes some trainees many months to complete, he said.

Hill said self- initiative was a key factor in her success.

"Do not wait for someone to hold your hand when it comes to your training," said Hill.

"Show initiative, come out and complete your training and always remember your Core Values."

Hill is fully qualified in Air Transportation, Communications and currently holds a 5-level as crew chief.
