ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- Approximately 110 Airmen and two C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft from the 139th Airlift Wing are home after spending months deployed to the Middle East. The bulk of Airmen arrived at Rosecrans on Nov. 19 where they were welcomed by their families.
The Airmen were deployed anywhere from two to four months to U.S. Central Command’s area of responsibility. During their deployment, the Airmen provided C-130 Hercules aircraft support for Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Resolute Support.
Aircrews flew over 2,200 sorties and transported over 1,100 passengers and 1,000 tons of cargo. The Airmen are from the 139th Operations Group and 139th Maintenance Group.
