Airman Basic Nicole Breyfogle was promoted to the rank of airman on May 12, 2020. Breyfogle is a member of the air terminal operations center assigned to the 139th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Missouri Air National Guard.

Breyfogle has been mobilized since April 19, 2020 assisting in the fight against COVID-19. She has been helping the Second Harvest food pantry in St. Joseph with sorting and packing food boxes to help the local community.

“Helping my community in these trying times is one of the many reasons I enlisted in the Missouri Air National Guard,” said Breyfogle.

Breyfogle’s promotion ceremony was onsite at Second Harvest and was conducted by Lt. Col. Mark Cheney, commander of the 139th LRS.

Breyfogle said, “Being promoted while...helping my community is something that I will always remember and cherish.”

Breyfogle’s parents, Joel and Shelly, as well as her sister, Staff Sgt. Kimberly Driskell, a member of the 139th Civil Engineering Squadron, were in attendance for her first promotion.
