KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- Airmen from the 139th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Missouri Air National Guard, recently conducted annual field training at Kadean Air Base, Japan, on June 7, 2019.
Part of their training included preparing and loading pallets that will be delivered throughout the Defense Transportation System. Training at an active duty base overseas allows Airmen to receive training not necessarily available at Rosecrans. Their training ultimately prepares the Airmen to do their job in a deployed environment.
The Airmen loaded household goods, unaccompanied baggage, and Mission Impaired Capability Awaiting Parts (MICAP). The squadron loaded some 82 pallets during their two week training.
In addition to completing training tasks, some of the Airmen trained their active duty counter parts.
Staff Sgt. Lazerus Wooten taught Airmen from the 733rd Air Mobility Squadron how to upload imagery into a database that provides detailed and graphically represented load plans for cargo.
1st Lt. Owen Compton, a logistics plan officer assigned to the 139th LRS, says Kadean has the largest air terminal in the Pacific Command.
“It has been very positive and this air mobility squadron and logistics readiness squadron have had the most organized reception process,” said Compton. “And the best training integration for us that I have seen to date.”
