The 139th Airlift Wing (AW) mentorship program kicked off at Rosecrans Air Natioanl Guard Base March 6, 2016 during an all call briefing in the base auditorium.

The mentorship program is designed to pair mentors and mentees with the goal of assisting Airmen with setting and achieving career progression goals.

Col. Ed Black, vice commander of the 139th AW, said an informal mentorship program has existed at Rosecrans for years, but the need for focused mentoring will hopefully accelerate force development.

Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James has been quoted as saying, "Once you progress to a certain point in your career, it's your obligation to pay it forward."
