ROSECRANS, ST. JOSEPH -- On September 10, the Exercise Association recognized Master Sgt. Gary Chambers of the 139th Civil Engineering Squadron, as a recipient of the Tiger award.
The Tiger award is given to individual non-commissioned officers and personnel of the United States military who are routinely placed in harm's way.
Master Sgt. Chambers was described as the epitome of a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer with the goals and successful accomplishment of the unit's mission.
Exercise Tiger was the code name for a full-scale rehearsal in 1944 for the D-Day invasion of Normandy.
