NORBORNE, Mo. --

True to the motto “Always Ready, Ever Willing”, the 139th Airlift Wing was called upon on June 1, 2019, to assist in sand bagging efforts in Norborne, Mo.

The town requested assistance from the Missouri National Guard as the levee that protects their town from the Missouri River had breached.

About 50 men and women from the 139th Airlift Wing traveled to the small town where they helped fill around 30,000 sand bags.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson declared a state of emergency and activated the Missouri National Guard to assist with the flood relief efforts earlier this week.
