ROSECRANS AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Mo. --
U.S Air Force Senior Airman Shelby Cook is a food service journeyman with the 139th Force Support Squadron, Missouri Air National Guard.
Cook joined the active duty Air Force in 2016 and was stationed in Guam working in services. In 2018 her friend Airman 1st Class Shealy Meade, 139th Medical Group, said that she should talk with Tech. Sgt. Jason Jones in recruiting about crossing over to the 139th.
When asked what she likes best about being a part of the 139th, she stated “It’s like a family, you feel welcome when you are here”.
The 139th is a family affair for the Cook’s. Her husband Airman 1st Class Patrick Cook is assigned to the 139th Logistics Readiness Squadron. They were both stationed in Guam where they were married and both members transitioned to the 139th together to be closer to home.
Cook comes from a long line of military members in her family as she is the fourth generation to serve. Most recently, her father was in the Army and served in Operation Desert Storm.
