Save the date for the 2019 Stars and Stripes Gala, the 139th Airlift Wing’s annual military ball, on September 7.

“This year’s ball will have a different format than previous years,” said 2nd Lt. Ashley Ribbens, co-chair of the 139th Airlift Wing Air Force ball committee. “Instead of a formal dinner at the gala, attendees are encouraged to dine at local restaurants to show appreciation for all their support of our Wing.”

The event is free for members in the ranks of E1 to E4 and student flght; $5 for the ranks E5 to E9, retirees and state employees; and $10 for officers and distinguished visitors. The event will include hors d'oeuvres, desserts, and entertainment. A professional photographer will be available for those who would like to have their picture taken at the event.

“The goal for this year’s ball is for everyone to have a great time, to mingle and to connect with fellow Guardsmen,” said Ribbens. “We look forward to seeing everyone at this year’s event.”

Ribbens and 2nd Lt. Jessica Coleman are co-chairing the nine-member committee that is organizing this annual event. The committee has been hard at work over the past year developing an event that will support the morale and espirit de corps throughout the Wing and its members.
