A resiliency training class is helping prepare Airmen here to deal with the stress of deployments, at home and abroad.

"There's a lot of stress that happens during deployment," said 1st Lt. Jose Martinez, chaplain, who is teaching the course.

Martinez said the Flash Forward resiliency training course provides Airmen valuable resources to "bounce back" from stressful situations.

Officials said the training teaches how to "identify potential problems and develop individual and group skill and techniques to survive and prosper in times of great stress."

"We are trying to give the tools those families and Airmen could use," said Martinez.

The course takes a few hours. Martinez said he hopes all Airmen take it, with an emphasis on those deploying to the war fight.

In the coming months, plans are to bring trainers to the units, where the training is convenient and tailored to unit-specific stressors and challenges.
