ST. JOSEPH, Mo.-- Growing up in a family of military members, Staff Sgt. Jason Luckenbach decided to join the Active Duty Air Force in 1993, following in his father, Lt. Col. Ret. Tim Luckenbach’s footsteps.

After serving his first four year tour on the Air Force’s Presidential Honor Guard, Staff Sgt. Luckenbach enlisted with the 139th Security Forces Squadron where he deployed to Afghanistan for six months.

Luckenbach is currently a finance technician in the Wing Operations (Ops) Group.

“Having a finance person in Ops full time has really streamlined things for the unit, helping make thing more efficient for the Ops group and taking the workload off of the wing finance office,” said Luckenbach.

Luckenbach said he is able to make things more convenient for flight crews to handle their finances while traveling.

“All those little things that they think about back home are taken care of, I think is important that I can help out a little bit with that.”

“I have always worked with numbers, it (finance) just comes easy to me,” said Luckenbach who recently earned his level one Financial Management Certification.

Luckenbach’s father, Lt. Col. Ret. Tim Luckenbach flew the C-130 for the Advanced Airlift Tactics Training Center here at Rosecrans.
